DISCOVER BLACKSMITHING

The Course

Discover the basic essentials of blacksmithing. Forge some foundational projects and learn essential skills with an eye toward next steps. A prerequisite for all other classes, in this class you will make a functional letter opener ("sharp pointy thing" or equivalent project) using essential blacksmithing skills. You will draw a taper, forge an edge, bend a scroll and twist a handle to make a decorative blade. Students must be at least 13 years old. Parental supervision may be required.
